Just another Day!

It seems funny to me how sometimes life seems so ordinary or like Jane Austen wrote, "A quick succession of busy nothing", and how other days seem extraordinary. Why is this I wonder? Is it based on what side of the bed we wake up on (figuratively speaking), our health, or just because some days we accomplish more, and therefore feel more satisfied with our day. Maybe it is a little of anything.
Today I woke up and made a mental to do list, much like I do everyday. Gym, Laundry, Mommy/Daughter time out of the house, clean the blinds, etc. However my day did not go according to its very habitual plan. At the gym this morning, I got so hot I almost passed out. To be honest, it was very frightening. My face felt hot, and I couldn't see anything for almost 10 full minutes. I also became very nauseous. Although I never passed out, the whole ordeal was bizarre. I was so tired and worn out that I had to rest for almost an hour before I felt up to even getting off the couch. After some rest I was able to finally get up and get ready enough to meet some friends at the park for a lunch play date for our kiddo's. After the park however, I again felt that my body needed rest, so I just vegged out during Maddie nap. The rest of my day involved a little laundry and a lot more vegging. This day totally changed from routine to unfamiliar by one 10 minute long event.
So I have decided that it is the rare events, that happen in our everyday life, that make a normal day feel like some more.

  1. And when you have kids, that seems to happen more often than not...plus you get to deal with OTHER people waking up on the wrong side of the bed.
